We had to prioritize our bills and unfortunately, the only bills we have been able to afford have been the mortgage, car payments and insurance. And even those are all one month behind. Our credit has taken a huge hit. From the low 700’s to the low 400’s. We have lapsed on all credit card bills, loans and payments of any kind. NOW….things have changed. My husband has been promoted with a HUGE pay increase. Enough to catch up all bills and start paying off debts. I have two questions: First, is it better to repair credit by paying off the collection companies with a discount or pay the lender/credit card directly? Second, how long would it take to restore our credit if we catch all of our bills up and pay off debts we owe?
Any advice would be great. Thanks!

How bad do you think my credit has gone down, everything else I have is always paid in full and on time.. my credit score was like 725 to begin with. any idea of what it can be now after a home foreclosure. I know I can obtain my own credit score before all the smarty pants out there answer. I’m just asking general questions that’s all.

1. Can they still come after me for the balances? If yes, how much time do they have left to collect?
2. When can my credit be restored, or at least used again?
It’s all from the state of Colorado

Hi. I am looking for a lease to own property in Shelby Township, MI (48316). I have noticed that there are quite a bit of vacant homes in the area however I am not able to qualify for a mortgage at this time due to extremely poor credit. I was wondering if by any chance there are any programs/individuals that would be able to help me in my situation? I know about the restore your credit programs and stuff like that but I am in dire need of something asap like August 1st. Any advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

So now I decided that I would try to get my license restored and the pell grant I applied for will not pay for it. I tried all the loan companies that my college gave to me, and I was turned down to all of them. I do not have a credit worthy cosigner to help me. Some of the companies I tried were Sallie Mae, Nellie Mae, Bank America, Wells Fargo, Astrive, etc. I really wanted to just be able to concentrate on studying and no have to work if possible, but I don’t know now if that is possible. The colllege does not accept federal grants. So I am trying to find out how I can do this. I think that this is a tragedy when there is a shortage of nurses and I just need to take a refresher course and could be finished in about 4 months or so. I think that there should be some way to do this, but I can not figure it out. So where would one try to find funding now?
Thanks for your help.
I have to have the refresher course according to the state in which I live. I do not have any one that can help me pay for it. It will be expensive with there being 6 credit hours for the course not counting any fees, insurance required, physical, TB test, complete uniforms, books, cpr certified, background check, and the fee for the state to restore my license. And if I am working it will make it really hard to concentrate on my studying, so that is why I was hoping to get a loan. I doubt if I will get this accomplished. I am hoping that someone will know of ways to do this.
Thanks to all for the suggestions.
Mr. Hooksman I tried to send you an email but it came back to me. Can you put a link on here for me to contact you with?

career as a lawyer in the movie come to an end because he lied
to his co-workers? Thanks in advance for you answers.

Mike S wrote: I got behind on bills because of a low paying job and poor budgeting. I now have a job making considerably more than I did a few years ago. I plan on paying off my two credit cards worth approximately $3500 with my tax return. I bought a new silverado truck last june and I’ve done pretty well on keeping up on the payment. (it does have one late payment) My main problem is my student loans. I haven’t payed a dime in the past year. I plan on starting to make payments from now on. I’m trying to get things in order to buy a house in the next year or so. Between continuing to make on time payments on my truck, paying off my credit cards, start making student loan payments…is there anything else I can do to improve my credit? These are really my only bills outside of cell and apartment related cost. I would like to get my score up to get a better rate. Thanks, Mike

Well my lovely gf has called me at work. It seems like she had forgotten to tun off automatic windows updates on her computer. Her windows updated and now there is a warning that wont go away on her screen saying that she has a virus or spy ware on her computer. Her task manager is gone, and will not come back on by doing the 3 ways windows says to bring it up. She tries to do a system restore and it wont let her and her “pretty” back ground on her desktop is gone. She says the message is from the Windows Security Center and when she got on my computer and researced the message that her computer is now all messed up. I told her o come get my credit card and go out and buy anti virus software as she has none on her computer. I am a “what if” thinker all the time. What if the virus software does not get her task manager back and get her computer back up and running? What should I do? Is this because of updates? How would I get rid of them when it seems we are locked out everything.
